By working together, having fun and serving the people of West Haven, the Dept. of Recreation remains steadfast in its commitment to meeting the demands of a diverse community.
Many new programs and services await you in the Fall / Winter 2002 - 2003 Program Directory, giving people like you an opportunity to be a part of all these changes. Using this resource as a foundation for your recreational endeavors, there is no limit to what you can do.
As the United States confronts the challenges of a new era, I also hope that you will take a strong and active role in serving our community and our nation. By always setting high goals and leading lives of integrity, you can reach your full potential and help ensure a bright future for America.
Very truly yours,
H. Richard Borer, Jr.
Mayor
I am proud to unveil our Fall / Winter 2002 / 2003 Program Directory, your exciting guide to recreational activities, excursions, and family shows in West Haven. We continue to bring new and exciting things to our core group of activities and events.
If you don't find a particular program that you are interested in, let us know. We'll try to add it if we can. In the meantime, stroll along a nature trail, attend a special event or enroll in a program. Everything you and your family needs for a special fall - winter experience is right here in West Haven. The benefits of recreation are endless.
You'll notice a change in personnel. Our Pool / Waterfront Supervisor, Mark Bisaccia has moved on to a new position within the City. The Recreation Dept. will surely miss him. We will have to restructure to continue to bring you the very best quality programs that we can.
Enjoy the programs and best wishes for a prosperous year. Look for our new website, www.whparkrec.com, which is currently under construction.
Recreationally yours,
William P. Slater
