The West Haven Drug & Alcohol Task Force, Inc. hosted its ninth annual Health & Wellness Fair to promote health needs and services that may be available to anyone in New Haven County. The fair, which was held on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the Old Grove Park along the boardwalk was co?sponsored by the West Haven High School Band Parents. Experts from 21 area health, nutrition, substance abuse and social service organizations and agencies were on hand to answer questions and distribute literature to visitors who attended the fair. The five-hour fair also coincided with the West Haven High School Band Parents Arts & Craft Fair. The organizations that took part were: Aids Project of New Haven, American Medical Response, Carpenos Chiropractic Center, Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis, Clifford Beers Guidance Clinic, West Haven Community House, Inc., Domestic Violence of Greater New Haven, West haven Juvenile Justice Center, Naranon, South Central Area Agency on Aging, Visiting Nurse Association, West haven Police Crime Prevention Unit and the D.A.R.E Unit, West Haven Health Departmen, West Haven Mental Health Clinic, West Haven's Local System of Care, Yale Transplant Center, Herbalife, Elm City Counseling, APT Foundation, and Kids Crisis Response Service.
