The West Haven Speedway in West Haven, CT was originally known
as Donovan Field. Area baseball teams had games at the field,
and West Haven High School used the field for sports events.

In the early 1930's a racetrack was added and Midget Auto Racing
was introduced here with such favorites as Bill Schindler,
Johnny Rice, and George Rice.
